Former Jacobsen Orr Attorney Kane Ramsey Appointed to the Ninth District Court Bench

Former JO Attorney Kane Ramsey Appointed to the Ninth District Court Bench

On February 7, 2025, Governor Jim Pillen announced the appointment of Deputy Buffalo County Attorney Kane Ramsey as Judge of the District Court for the Ninth Judicial District. Ramsey was an associate attorney with Jacobsen Orr before joining the Buffalo County Attorney’s office in 2019. The staff and attorneys at Jacobsen Orr congratulate Kane on his appointment to the bench.

Kane will be the fourth attorney of the firm to enter service to the public as a judge.  He is the third attorney from Jacobsen Orr to hold the same position, a seat formerly held by Hon. William T. Wright, and, upon his retirement, Hon. Ryan C. Carson, both former shareholders at Jacobsen Orr. Judge Carson continues to serve in the judiciary as a Magistrate Judge with the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska.  In addition, former Jacobsen Orr shareholder Hon. Terri S. Harder, served in the judiciary for many years prior to her retirement in May 2024, as District Court Judge for the Tenth Judicial District.

Kane began his legal practice with Jacobsen Orr in 2014 upon his graduation from law school. His practice areas included civil litigation, criminal defense and family and juvenile law. We wish Kane the best as he takes on this new endeavor.
