(Franklin County; June 2016) Congratulations to Nicole Mailahn on her recent jury verdict in the District Court of Franklin County.  Nicole tried a breach of construction contract claim on a residential house and successfully defended the contractor against the homeowner’s allegations that the contractor failed to construct a custom built home as agreed, as well as allegations of failing to construct the home according to industry standards.  The homeowner asked the jury to award them over $100,000 in damages, however Nicole was able to get the jury to return a defense verdict.  In addition to the defense verdict,  Nicole successfully obtained a judgement in the sum of $46,000 which constituted the amount due her client under the contract for which the homeowner refused to pay.  The jury deliberated only a few hours after having spent 5 days listening to dozens of lay witnesses, several expert witnesses and reviewing several hundred exhibits.  Great job to  Nicole and all of our support staff who worked so hard for the client!
